PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Two children have died in an early morning house fire in Sewickley.
The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. along Miller Way.
Allegheny County Police say that two children were pulled from the home by firefighters, but died at the scene. The two children have not yet been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police say that an adult was able to get out of the home. They were taken to the hospital, but their condition has not been made available.
Allegheny County Homicide detectives and the County Fire Marshals Office are investigating.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Crews responded to a five alarm fire in a downtown Pittsburgh apartment building.
Firefighters got the fire under control around 12:15 a.m. Monday morning, officials said. It’s not clear yet what caused the fire.
Early Monday morning, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey tweeted, “Thank you @PghFireFighters for your heroic work.”
106 people were in the building at the time of the fire, officials said.
The American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for the displaced residents. Approximately 75 residents and one pet sought shelter there overnight.

A fire broke out in the house in the 100 block of Woodland Road in Beaver County after 10 p.m. on Sunday night.
Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer later identified the woman killed in the fire as 67-year-old Rebecca Crawford. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
Video sent to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 showed heavy black smoke that could be seen from Route 28.
Harrison Hills Volunteer Fire Chief James Bartolovich said his crews were working to determine what chemicals may have been inside the store. Bartolovich said the business owners were working to switch from summer chemicals to winter chemicals so it’s unclear what exactly was being stored inside of the building.
Officials said the known chemicals on site were chlorine, acid, and propane.
A home in the Sarver area was significantly damaged in a fire this morning.
The initial call came in around 8:15 a.m. for a wood burner that had caught on fire inside a home in the 500 block of Fleming Road in Buffalo Township.
When crews arrived on scene, they said the two-story structure had turned into a fully involved fire.
In addition to fire crews from Butler County, other firefighters were called in to assist from Allegheny and Armstrong Counties.
At least one person was taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Westmoreland County EMS responded to reports of multiple houses on fire just after 2 p.m. on Monday.
According to the Jeannette Police Department, a total of five families were displaced.

An Indiana woman was killed in a fire in Armstrong County Sunday afternoon.
Pennsylvania State Police from the Kittanning barracks said that 80-year-old Judith Zacherl was found inside a home on Rimerton Road in Madison Township in the north-central part of the county. She was found in the living room after the fire was put out, according to Armstrong County Coroner Brian K. Myers. The fire reportedly started around 1:00 PM. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
State troopers say that her death is not suspicious. Fire Marshals from the state police have been called in to investigate the cause of the fire. No other details have been provided.
Fire crews from several boroughs are at the scene of a house fire on the 1100 block of Toman Avenue in the City of Clairton.
Fire crews along with EMS crews are trying to bring the fire under control. Crews have also requested the Allegheny County Fire Marshall respond to the scene.
A man is in custody after crews were called to an early morning fire in Latrobe, Westmoreland County, on Wednesday.
Latrobe Police said the fire was the result of a domestic dispute. Dale Smith Jr., 34, faces multiple charges, including arson, terroristic threats and causing and risking a catastrophe.

For the second time in less than 24 hours, firefighters were called to the same home in Pittsburgh’s Esplen neighborhood.
The latest fire was reported around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Oregon Street.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters had been called to that same home on Monday morning in a fire that residents said may have started in the attic and destroyed at least one room.
There was no initial word on what sparked the flames in either incident, though fire investigators were looking into the cause.
Firefighters were battling the fire along Babcock Boulevard in Ross Township on Thursday night.
Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reporter Mike Valente spoke to one resident who lives on the third floor. He said he smelled smoke and quickly ran down to alert his mother, who lives on the first floor.
“I can’t believe it’s happening,” Chris Bish said, still in a daze. “I’ve never been in a house fire. It’s pretty surreal.”
Bish said that after he was able to get his mother out, he started banging on other neighbors’ doors.
