Crews battled 4-alarm blaze at Allegheny County business

Video sent to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 showed heavy black smoke that could be seen from Route 28.

Harrison Hills Volunteer Fire Chief James Bartolovich said his crews were working to determine what chemicals may have been inside the store. Bartolovich said the business owners were working to switch from summer chemicals to winter chemicals so it’s unclear what exactly was being stored inside of the building.

Officials said the known chemicals on site were chlorine, acid, and propane.
