Firefighters were battling the fire along Babcock Boulevard in Ross Township on Thursday night.
Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reporter Mike Valente spoke to one resident who lives on the third floor. He said he smelled smoke and quickly ran down to alert his mother, who lives on the first floor.
“I can’t believe it’s happening,” Chris Bish said, still in a daze. “I’ve never been in a house fire. It’s pretty surreal.”
Bish said that after he was able to get his mother out, he started banging on other neighbors’ doors.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
