The fire broke out just one block from PPG Paints Arena at 1315 Fifth Ave. at around 9:10 p.m. Thirsday.
According to a release from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, one man was able to escape the burning building. Medics on scene were able to evaluate him.
No other injuries occurred.
