Drunk driver faces charges in crash that sent several to hospital

The driver, Jelyssa Martinez, 28, of Pittsburgh, was allegedly five times over the legal limit.

Detectives say it was in December when Martinez crossed the center line causing a collision with another vehicle along Frankstown Road, near Erhardt Drive, in Penn Hills. Investigators said four women and a 3-year-old were in the gray Subaru Legacy Sedan that Martinez allegedly crashed into.

A passenger in the Subaru was found unresponsive and has been hospitalized ever since the crash with several injuries, including a skull fracture. The driver of the Subaru has been wearing a neck brace and has had neck pain since the crash. The toddler reportedly had a concussion and the other passenger suffered from chest and back pain. The fifth passenger received medical treatment for neck and back pain at the hospital after the toddler was stable.

Martinez, who was driving a blue Toyota Rav4, was not hurt in the crash.
