TURTLE CREEK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man near Pittsburgh by a woman after a domestic altercation that lasted for hours.
Allegheny County police said officers and paramedics in the borough of Turtle Creek were called to the home shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday and found the man shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The county medical examiner’s office identified him as 24-year-old Nigel Broadus.
Police said the 28-year-old woman told them the man refused to leave her home at about 2 a.m. Saturday and she was repeatedly assaulted and held against her will for about three hours. Police said he threatened to kill her and began looking for her firearm, but she was able to retrieve the weapon and fired as he came toward her.
