Morning storm passes, but more rain on the way for Pittsburgh region | TribLIVE.com

After a severe thunderstorm warning passed on Sunday morning, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for additional storms that could reach the region later in the day.

NWS officials said the risk remains for additional severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening, with damaging wind being the main risk.

“Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, but large hail is also possible, as is an isolated tornado,” NWS officials said in the statement posted to Weather.gov.

The southern end of a sizable storm system continued moving east, stretching from Toronto to Springfield, Ill. Radar projections show it losing steam as it continues into Ohio and Pennsylvania. NWS officials said there is a 50-80% chance of additional thunderstorms, and rain features in the forecast through most of the coming week.

Residents can report severe weather by calling 412-262-1988 or posting to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh’s Facebook page.

‘It’s a kangaroo court’: in key state, Trump backers dismiss January 6 hearings | Wisconsin | The Guardian

Residents of rural northern Wisconsin, a key swing state, have not been shaken by slickly planned congressional testimony

“They’re painting Trump as though he incited this riot,” said the county Republican vice chair, Peter Biolo, who avoided watching the hearings. “They got to the Capitol and the Capitol police let them in. They didn’t storm the Capitol as is being reported. And the one person that was shot, that female veteran, was shot by a Capitol police officer.”

The hearings are instead viewed as part of a broader witch-hunt against the former president, alongside official investigations into whether his company fiddled taxes and fraudulently inflated property values to obtain cheaper loans.

Precautionary boil water advisory issued for 4 Pittsburgh neighborhoods

A precautionary boil water advisory was issued Wednesday for parts of four Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

Just before 7 a.m., the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority experienced a break on a section of an 8-inch water main on Lorenz Avenue which caused lower or no water pressure in several neighborhoods including Crafton Heights, Elliot, Ridgemont and Westwood.

When there is water pressure loss, contaminants can enter drinking water, leading to the precautionary advisory.

Water buffaloes were made available at these locations for people affected: Hasslet Street in the Herschel Playground, Hamburg Street at Springfield Street, Lorenz Avenue at Rue Grande Vue and 1717 Hethlon Street.

This Is How Common Identity Theft Is in Pennsylvania – 24/7 Wall St.

Identity theft is a crime that involves theft of an individual’s personal information and credentials – such as their Social Security number or bank information – often for the purposes of financial fraud. One possible explanation for the surge in 2020 is the pandemic and the legislation that included more than $5 trillion in various government benefits to help financially strapped Americans. This provided a larger scale opportunity for scammers and identity thieves.
