A precautionary boil water advisory was issued Wednesday for parts of four Pittsburgh neighborhoods.
Just before 7 a.m., the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority experienced a break on a section of an 8-inch water main on Lorenz Avenue which caused lower or no water pressure in several neighborhoods including Crafton Heights, Elliot, Ridgemont and Westwood.
The pressure was restored around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. When there is water pressure loss, contaminants can enter drinking water, leading to the precautionary advisory.
Water buffaloes were made available at these locations for people affected: Hasslet Street in the Herschel Playground, Hamburg Street at Springfield Street, Lorenz Avenue at Rue Grande Vue and 1717 Hethlon Street.
