Hunter Biden’s laptop keeps damning Joe, but most media just ignore it

Hunter Biden’s laptop continues to yield damning information that shows his dad, President Joe Biden, played a significant and knowing role in his son’s sleazy influence-peddling. And while the media efforts to pretend these revelations are nothing but “Russian disinformation” have ceased, The Post’s scoops still get ignored by outlets that would be all over them if they were about the Trump family.

The latest, of course, is the photographic evidence that then-Veep Joe attended an April 16, 2015, dinner with shady Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh “businessmen” and even posed for photos with the unseemly guests.

To put some face-saving cover on the event in the private “Garden Room” at Café Milano, a posh Georgetown eatery (“Where the world’s most powerful people go,” run its promos), Hunter billed it as “ostensibly to discuss food security,” as he e-mailed one guest, and invited several officials from the World Food Program.

But the beards were outnumbered by the likes of corrupt former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov (hubby of Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina, who’d paid one of Hunter’s firms $3.5 million the year before), Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev, Karim Massimov (a former prime minister of Kazakhstan) and Vadym Pozharskyi, an executive of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

Massive Move: After Official Vote, County District Attorney’s Office Asked to Investigate Dominion Over Election ‘Errors’

A Pennsylvania county will investigate after machines from Dominion failed to display ballots for Republican voters during a recent primary.

Election integrity is again the topic of conversation in a Pennsylvania county that has seen its share of irregularities since the Nov. 3 election.

A May 18 primary election in Luzerne County stunned voters when machines from Dominion Voting Systems failed to display ballots for Republican voters, instead displaying a header that said “Official Democratic Ballot.” Earlier this past week, the Luzerne County’s Council voted unanimously to ask the district attorney’s office to launch an investigation into those “errors.”

One council member was not present for the vote to look into the Dominion machines used.

Trump blasts Biden for ‘destroying our country’

Former President Donald Trump blasted President Biden on his handling of China, the Middle East and the crisis at the southern border, saying his successor is “destroying our country.”

“All he had to do is nothing,” the former president said on Newsmax’s “Dick Morris Democracy” on Saturday. “We won’t have a country; they’re destroying our country.”

Trump said his administration’s work on the Mexican border was overturned by Biden and created the situation that exists there today.

“If he would have done nothing, we would have had right now the strongest border in history,” Trump told Dick Morris.

Biden received funds from top Russia lobbyist before Nord Stream 2 giveaway | Fox News

President Biden and his allies raked in campaign cash from a top Russia lobbyist in 2020, just months before his administration’s decision to scrap sanctions on a controversial firm building a Russian oil pipeline to Germany.

In addition to violating Biden’s own campaign pledge not to take lobbyist cash, the money from Burt is particularly noteworthy as he is currently directly engaged in lobbying activities for Nord Stream 2 AG.

Kamala Harris ignores Memorial day in ‘enjoy the long weekend’ tweet

Vice President Kamala Harris sent a tweet telling Americans to “enjoy the long weekend” and disregard America’s national day of mourning, Memorial day.

Vice President Kamala Harris drew heat online Saturday for telling Americans to “enjoy the long weekend” — which ends with a national day of mourning.

Harris tweeted the celebratory words Saturday afternoon, alongside a picture of herself smiling. She did not mention Memorial Day, the upcoming federal holiday reserved for honoring military members that have died protecting the US.

Reactions to the tweet were largely negative and sarcastic, with one user replying, “I’ve never been able to “enjoy” Memorial Day. It became that much harder when I lost my son fighting for this country. Thanks anyway Madam Vice President.

President Biden has released his $6 trillion budget. Here’s what’s in it. – CNNPolitics

(CNN)President Joe Biden on Friday proposed a $6 trillion budget for fiscal year 2022, laying out details of a proposed dramatic increase in federal spending that serves as the underpinning of an economic agenda that seeks to transform the American economy as the country emerges from dual public health and economic crises.

The budget proposal, which is an opening bid in negotiations with Congress and is expected to change before being signed into law, calls for the most sustained period of spending in more than half a century. The White House budget serves more as a marker of administration priorities than a policy blueprint destined to be signed into law. It would invest heavily in Biden’s top priority areas including infrastructure, education, research, public health, paid family leave and childcare.

Andy McCarthy hits media’s lack of curiosity into the Biden family connection to China | Fox News

Former chief assistant U.S. Attorney and Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy reacted Thursday to reports Vice President Joe Biden met with his son’s Russian and Ukrainian business associates saying, “Hunter Biden’s business is access.”

During an appearance on “The Story“, McCarthy criticized the president’s son and ex-business partner Devon Archer, who was convicted in a federal fraud case in the Southern District of New York.

“These guys were not in business to produce value. They were in business because they were related to or had close relationships to high-ranking people in the United States government and they provided access,” said McCarthy. So I think people ought to be very concerned about this,” he continued.

Will Tony Moreno run as a Republican in Pittsburgh mayoral race?

Democratic Pittsburgh mayoral candidate Ed Gainey may face a Republican opponent in the fall, based on early results of write-in votes released Tuesday.

Retired Pittsburgh police officer Tony Moreno, 51, of Brighton Heights, has received 1,379 Republican write-in votes thus far. Moreno ran a populist campaign as a Democrat, but finished a distant third in last week’s primary election.

The write-in tally isn’t yet complete, according to Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs. But it puts him far above the 250-vote threshold to get on the ballot as a Republican. Of the 2,136 write-in votes cast, 276 Republican write-ins have yet to be tallied.

“Once all write-ins are complete, all candidates who met the threshold to qualify will receive letters with instructions,” Downs said in an email. “The candidates must file everything that they would have filed had they run for the office and they must also complete, sign (notarized) and return a form to accept the nomination.”

Aug. 9 is the deadline for candidates to accept the nomination or file papers to withdraw from the ballot.

Jen Psaki Shutting Down Fox News’ Peter Doocy During Presser Gets Mixed Reviews

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told Fox News’ Peter Doocy that he was “misunderstanding how this process actually works” after he pressed her on whether the U.S. would investigate the origins of COVID-19 on Monday.

Doocy asked Psaki why President Joe Biden wasn’t pushing harder to investigate “the origins of COVID” during Monday’s White House press conference. He cited a Wall Street Journal article claiming that researchers at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill with symptoms that could have been caused by the virus in November 2019. Psaki said that the administration was pressing for an investigation into the virus’ origins headed by the World Health Organization.

“First of all, we need access to the underlying data and information in order to have that investigation,” Psaki said. “I think you’re misunderstanding how this process actually works. An international investigation, lead by the World Health Organization, is actually something we’ve been pressing for, for several months.”

Senate advances measure barring taxpayer funds for China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology | Fox News

In a bipartisan voice vote, the Senate approved an amendment introduced by Iowa Republican Joni Ernst to be included in the Endless Frontier Act, which seeks to counter Chinese economic and geopolitical ambitions.

REPUBLICANS SEEK TO TOUGHEN ANTI-CHINA BILL, FOCUS SPENDING ON COUNTERING CCP AMID PRICE TAG CONCERNS

“After COVID appeared in the vicinity of the Wuhan Institute, instead of cooperating…to discover the source of the outbreak, Chinese officials instead ordered the destruction of some of the coronavirus samples and blocked access to the lab,” Ernst said on the Senate floor, adding that China continues to block international access to study the origins of the virus.

“My amendment would ensure not another dime of taxpayer dollars goes, spent subsidizing communist China,” she added.

Mayor Wayne Dobos said he has fielded several complaints from residents, including a grandmother who reported that her young grandchild, just learning how to read, read the flag’s message.

Dobos said there is nothing the borough can do to make the homeowner, Matthew Shaner, take it down.

Shaner doesn’t appear to have plans to do so any time soon.

World Leaders Say It’s Time For Long-Term Resolution In Gaza : NPR

Leaders around the world welcomed news of a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas early Friday after days of hostilities killed altogether at least 250 people, including some 70 children.

After 11 days of the worst fighting in the region since 2014, global leaders called for both sides to resolve the decades-long conflict and to build a lasting, peaceful and stable future.

President Joe Biden’s administration held “intense, high-level discussions hour by hour” with the Israelis, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt and others to reach the truce. He said Thursday that there is a “genuine opportunity” to build on the progress.

The U.S. appears ready to continue its involvement in the region. Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted early Friday that he will visit the region in the coming days and that he looks “forward to meeting the Foreign Minister and other Israeli, Palestinian, and regional leaders.”

Schumer says he will soon introduce a marijuana legalization bill | Fox News

Sen. Chuck Schumer said that he would be introducing a marijuana bill “shortly,” one that would not only legalize the drug but would expunge past records.

“Here’s the immediate time frame,” the New York Democrat told podcast host and former South Carolina representative Bakari Sellers. “The three people working on a comprehensive bill are myself, Senator [Ron] Wyden and Senator [Corey] Booker, and we will be introducing our bill shortly.”

“It is not just legalization but a deal for the injustices of the past expungement of the records making sure that the money that’s made from marijuana goes to the communities, communities of color, poor people communities, that have paid the price for this ridiculous scheduling of marijuana,” Schumer said.

“We’re going to get some support from the right on this, we hope,” Schumer continued. “It’s going to take a little while, we’re going to need a mass campaign, but there’s real excitement in the country to do this right now.”

Greg Gutfeld: Democrats don’t care about dying cities because they care too much about power | Fox News

Dems don’t care about their dying cities due to the sunk cost of their bad ideas that have governed those cities for decades

The media only really cares about crime when it fits their narrative: white racist cop, and innocent nonwhite suspect. But if they really expect to get this country back to normal (and my definition of normal, not Don Lemon’s) we’re gunna need to address the elephants in the room.

Even Axios – a liberal news site – admits this. The title of their piece: “It’s set to be a hot, violent summer.” They report that in a sample of 37 cities over the first 3 months of 2021, analysts found that murders soared 18 percent – over the same period last year. And last year’s homicides were already up 33 percent. These are great numbers if they’re coming from your financial adviser at Schwab – not so much coming from the law enforcement website. Also, all but 3 of the 66 largest police jurisdictions saw at least one type of violent crime increase. And it’s likely to get worse as the weather gets hotter.

ATLANTA POLICE STRUGGLE TO FILL OPEN POSITIONS AMID VIOLENT CRIME SPIKE

So this is a called a crime wave, a result of Democrats releasing violent, mentally unhinged people onto our empty streets – where they prey upon innocent victims. All while saying we need to abolish the people tasked with stopping it. They’re turning our cities into a Mad Max movie, where “getting shot” doesn’t mean your 2nd Moderna vaccine. The anti-police sentiment made it worse.  After all – why would cops go to any dangerous call if they know there’s a chance they could end up on LeBron James twitter feed?

Hillary Clinton warns of ‘huge consequences’ in Afghan US troop withdrawal – BBC News

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned of “huge consequences” of President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan.

Mrs Clinton told CNN there was a risk the Taliban – the Islamist group ousted in 2001 by the US-led invasion – could retake control.

The US aims to complete the withdrawal by 11 September.

However, the Taliban have been carrying out more attacks.

“This is what we call a wicked problem,” Mrs Clinton told CNN. “There are consequences both foreseen and unintended of staying and of leaving,” she said.

Mrs Clinton, like Mr Biden a Democrat, was a strong supporter of the US intervention in Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

Housing proposals aim to boost HUD budget for building affordable units | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WASHINGTON — To Larry Swanson, the small apartment buildings scattered across the Pittsburgh region stand as a testament to federal support for affordable housing — support that has waned over the years.

The buildings provide independent living low-income people with a range of disabilities who otherwise would face living in nursing homes or other institutions, said Mr. Swanson, the executive director of Action Housing Inc., a 64-year-old nonprofit that builds, improves and preserves affordable housing throughout the region.

Those projects, most of which have 10 to 15 units each, would not be economically feasible to build, he said, if it weren’t for a specific financing program, called Section 811, offered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“Those are the kind of things that private developers don’t do,” Mr. Swanson said. With other federal incentives to build housing, like the Low Income Housing Tax Credit run through the U.S. Treasury Department, “you can’t do the same types of projects; you can’t serve the same kinds of people.”

But a lack of HUD funding has deterred Mr. Swanson’s agency from pursuing such a project for more than a decade, he said. “HUD has underfunded for a very long time,” he said.

It’s a familiar lament issued over the years by some advocates of affordable housing and congressional Democrats. Now, with Democrats in control of Congress and the White House, a push for federal housing dollars is front and center as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inside Greg Gutfeld’s Meltdown—From Comic Rebel to Punchline

His new late-night Fox News show is a ratings success, but former colleagues and on-air pals say Gutfeld has morphed from iconoclast to dutiful pro-Trump company man.

These days the 56-year-old Gutfeld, whose eponymous 11 p.m. weeknight program Gutfeld! debuted on Fox News last week to largely hostile reviews but robust ratings, has, by some appraisals, morphed from zany rebel to company man, and from rule-breaking joker to handsomely compensated ideologue (at a rumored $4 million a year).

The second Fox News offering with his name in the title—the first aired on Saturday nights for six years starting in 2015—Gutfeld’s latest show thus far has largely consisted of crude parodies of rival personalities on other networks, sneering attacks on Joe and Hunter Biden, repeated warnings about the lying mainstream media, and an amen corner of familiar Fox News panelists, including new hire and former Trump mouthpiece Kayleigh McEnany, attempting variations on owning the libs.

PolitiFact | In gun policy address, Joe Biden exaggerates about background checks at gun shows

  • If you go to a gun show and buy a firearm from a federally licensed seller, you will have to pass a background check, just as if you went to a bricks-and-mortar gun store. You would only escape a background check at a gun show if you bought from a seller who isn’t federally licensed.
  • While the data is incomplete, federally licensed sellers have been found to make up a substantial share, and perhaps a majority, of gun show vendors.
In a Rose Garden event, President Joe Biden announced several actions his administration will take to address what he called an “epidemic” of gun violence.

Biden repeated his call for Congress to pass legislation to expand background checks. The House voted largely along party lines to pass a pair of background check bills this year, but they haven’t moved forward in the Senate.

“These bills, one, require background checks for anyone purchasing a gun at a gun show or an online sale,” Biden said at the April 8 event. “Most people don’t know it, you walk into a store and you buy a gun, you have a background check. But you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want, and no background check.”

When it comes to background checks for gun purchases, what matters is who sells the guns, not where the guns are sold — and when a federally licensed seller is a vendor at a gun show, they have to run a background check just as they would if they were back at a bricks-and-mortar gun store.

The White House told PolitiFact that Biden wasn’t suggesting that every gun transaction at a gun show would take place without a background check. Instead, he meant that sales without background checks could occur in some cases.

However, that’s not what he said.

What the laws say about sales at gun shows

Advocates for stricter gun control measures often talk about the “gun show loophole,” though some observers say the term is a misnomer. The phrase itself doesn’t explain who is and isn’t required to run background checks at gun shows.

Federal law requires that people in the business of dealing in firearms be licensed by the federal government.

Specifically, the law says that a license is required if “a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business with the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms.”

The law specifically rules out a required license if a person “makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his personal collection of firearms.”

This can sometimes be a fuzzy distinction, but it means many sellers of guns do need to have a license.

“Every federally licensed retailer, whether they are selling a gun at a brick and mortar store, a  gun show or the sale starts online,” must complete a signed background check form from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and get approval from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check system, said Mark Oliva, a spokesperson for the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
