Rayshon Mason, 32, is facing aggravated assault and attempted homicide charges. He was the man shot by agents.

Quarterback Mitch Trubisky took over in his absence and finished the game 11-of-17 for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also lost a fumble.

Paris attack near Eiffel Tower leaves one dead and two injured

A man has died and two others, including a British man, have been injured in a knife and hammer attack on a street in central Paris.

The attack occurred near the Eiffel Tower shortly before 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT) on Saturday.

A 26-year-old French national known to security services has been arrested and anti-terrorism prosecutors have opened an investigation.

Officials confirmed that the man killed was a German national.

France’s Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said the victim was with his wife when he was attacked and fatally stabbed on Quai de Grenelle.

He said the wife’s life was saved by the intervention of a taxi driver and that the suspect fled across a nearby bridge spanning the River Seine.

The man then attacked two more people, hitting one in the eye with a hammer, the minister said.

Westmoreland County man charged after infant hospitalized with broken bones, severe bruising

PITTSBURGH — A New Florence man was arrested Thursday after an infant was hospitalized with broken bones and severe bruising, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.

Christopher McClellan Timko, 30, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a child, endangering the welfare of children and obstruction.

State police said they were notified on Wednesday of a 2-month-old who was admitted to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh with serious injuries.

Pittsburgh Steelers-Indianapolis Colts game date and time announced

The NFL has announced the date and time for the Steelers’ Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

On Thursday, the NFL said the game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 16 will kick off at 4:30 p.m. The game date and time were previously listed as TBD. The game will air on KDKA-TV.

Emergency crews called to Washington County fire

Fire crews were called to the scene of a blaze in Washington County Wednesday.

Dispatchers tell Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that the fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Mt. Tabor Road in Long Branch.

Over a dozen fire crews have been called to the scene.

No injuries have been reported.

45-mile high-speed chase on I-79 comes to an end in Wexford

Britney Goodwine, 32, is facing multiple charges

The incident happened on Thanksgiving Day, with police releasing information on Tuesday.

Investigators said troopers tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the southbound lanes of I-79 in Mercer County.

Police said the vehicle did not stop and a 45-mile high speed chase continued, with state police in Butler using stop sticks south of exit 99.

More Rite Aid locations closing, including in Pittsburgh

One month after announcing the closure of more than 150 stores nationwide, Rite Aid is adding 32 more to that list.

The company submitted a list of additional closures in a court filing. Two of those closures are in the Pittsburgh area: 623 Smithfield Street in downtown and 4934 Second Avenue in Hazelwood.

Police, Fire, EMS Respond for Two-Vehicle Collision on the Liberty Bridge

Summary:

Just before 11:30 p.m., Police. Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the Liberty Bridge for a two-vehicle collision.

A driver was headed inbound on the bridge when she attempted to make a lane change. The male driver of the vehicle she was trying to overtake swerved into the outbound lane, hitting a vehicle head on. Medics transported him to the hospital in critical condition after his vehicle flipped on its side.

The female driver of the outbound vehicle was transported to the hospital in serious condition. 

The Collision Investigation Unit responded to investigate. The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene and provided information to police.

The bridge was closed to traffic while the investigation was underway.

Steelers offense has breakout day after OC’s exit

 

CINCINNATI — With 5:17 remaining in the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ first game since offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s dismissal, running back Najee Harris took a handoff from quarterback Kenny Pickett and cut to the outside.

With a 13-yard run, Harris carried the Steelers over 400 yards, a threshold they hadn’t seen in 58 regular-season games. Not only did the Steelers break that streak in their 16-10 win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday — they also outgained an opponent (424 yards to the Bengals’ 222) for the first time all season.

At least 1 person hospitalized after rollover crash on the Liberty Bridge

PITTSBURGH — At least one person has been taken to a hospital after a crash on the Liberty Bridge in Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County dispatchers say they received the call for the crash at 11:17 p.m.

Channel 11 observed a white jeep on its side on the bridge. Another vehicle sat on the other side of the road with heavy damage.
