Meet Ed Lisowski, who’s been caring for rides for three decades.
He’s part of a team including painters, body shop workers, carpenters, and others, tasked with bringing new life to some of Kennywood’s historic rides.
“Trust me, there’s a lot of other people behind the scenes,” Lisowski said with a laugh.
Lisowski showed Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 around his shop, which is right in view of the Racer. Inside, he’s been sanding and repainting more than a dozen cars from The Whip. The classic ride has been bringing smiles to guests’ faces since 1926.
