Vehicle crashes into building in Pittsburgh

A car hit the building in the 1700 block of West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood.


Pittsburgh Public Safety said the crash was reported around 5 a.m.

“Responding officers located the vehicle, but the driver had left the scene,” a Public Safety statement said.

There were no initial reports of any injuries.

Authorities described the damage as moderate to significant. Inspectors from the city’s Permits, Licenses, and Inspections department will determine the integrity of the building.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Inbound lanes of West Liberty Avenue reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
