Ford pickup recall

DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 277,000 pickup trucks and cars in the U.S. because the rear view camera lens can get cloudy and reduce visibility for the driver.

The recall covers certain F-250, 350 and 450 trucks as well as the Lincoln Continental, all from the 2017 through 2020 model years. The recalled vehicles have a 360-degree camera system.

Ford says the anti-reflective lens on the cameras can degrade, causing a cloudy image. The company says it has more than 8,800 warranty reports in the U.S. due to the problem.

Dealers will replace the camera at no cost to owners. Ford will notify owners by letter starting Sept. 12.

Target 11 sources: As many as 100 Pittsburgh officers failed new firearms test – WPXI

PITTSBURGH

— In August, sources tell Target 11 that as many as 100 of the approximately 830 Pittsburgh police officers couldn’t pass the state’s new firearms recertification test.

The municipal officers’ education and training commission changed the scoring this year, making it more difficult, according to some officers.

Officers must complete a short course and a long course. They shoot from distances as far as 75 feet and as close as three feet. They are also required to shoot while standing and while kneeling, and they must fire each round in a certain amount of time.

Sources tell Target 11 they don’t believe any officers will be fired over this.

Officers will go through retraining until they’re able to pass the test.

The city declined to release any numbers, and said we would have to file a right-to-know request, which 11 News has done.

Artemis I launch: Scheduled moon rocket launch scrubbed – WPXI

The launch window opened at 8:33 a.m. EDT.

During a news conference hours after the space agency scrubbed the launch, officials confirmed that they are targeting Friday at the earliest but also warned that the launch could be delayed until September, The Associated Press reported.

In addition to an issue with the No. 3 engine not bleeding correctly, the weather was also a factor in the decision to postpone the launch, CNN reported.

“There were also a series of weather issues throughout the launch window. We would have been a no-go for weather at the beginning of the window due to precipitation. Later on in the window, we would have been no-go for lightning within the launchpad area,” Mike Sarafin, Artemis I mission manager, said.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Detroit Lions: What to Watch for in Preseason Finale Sunday At 4:30 PM – Sports Illustrated Pittsburgh Steelers News, Analysis and More

The preseason is quickly winding down as the Pittsburgh Steelers look to finish undefeated heading into September.

The Steelers will have some massive roster decisions that will come down to the wire as well as a few position battles yet to be determined. With Detroit looking to play their starters for around a half, per their head coach Dan Campbell, this will be a nice final test for a young Steelers team.

Quarterback Battle Comes Down to the Wire

Whether you believe it or not, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been firm that the Steelers starting quarterback battle is ongoing. Mitch Trubisky will get the nod to open the game while Kenny Pickett seems like the sure bet to follow while Mason Rudolph will likely get mop-up duty in the finale. While Trubisky has been solid, he hasn’t exactly done much to necessarily win the job and Pickett’s splendid performances have done nothing but close the gap between the two players.

For Trubisky, he likely doesn’t need a huge performance to come away with the starting gig. If he holds still and plays clean football, the job will likely be his, at least for now. Pickett has more pressure on him to do the spectacular as he’s looking to unseat Trubisky who’s taken the vast majority of number one reps since the spring. Both quarterbacks would benefit immensely from improved offensive line play and a competent run game, something Tomlin has alluded to multiple times in recent weeks.

Still have to think that the leash for Trubisky will be rather short even if he’s able to come away on top as the pressure of a first round pick is never going to be something you can completely dismiss. As for Pickett, you have to be encouraged so far by what you’ve seen as he’s been extremely decisive, poised and accurate in every appearance so far. That’s exactly what the Steelers were looking for when they took him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
