1 dead in Shaler Township collision

Allegheny County police were investigating a deadly crash in Shaler Township on Friday night.

Police said two vehicles collided in the 3100 block of William Flinn Highway shortly after 7:40 p.m.

One driver was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The other driver was not injured.

Police said it appears that the first driver was attempting to turn into the southbound lanes and was struck by a vehicle headed north.

The name of the man who died has not been released as county homicide detectives continue to investigate.
