A shooting investigation in Clairton ended in Bethel Park Friday after two of the three suspect attempted to flee from police.
Allegheny County police say they were called to a report of shots fired into a residence on the 800 block of 3rd Street in Clairton around 11:40 a.m. Investigators were able to develop the description of a vehicle of interest.
About 30 minutes later, officers with Whitehall and Brentwood police spotted the vehicle along Route 51 and attempted a traffic stop. Police say three men ran from the vehicle. Officers were able to take one man into custody, but the other two were able to get back in the vehicle and flee the scene.A short time later, the vehicle was spotted in Bethel Park and Bethel Park police began to pursue it. The vehicle lost control and crashed at the intersection of Library Road and Clifton Road. Police said the two men then fled on foot. Both were taken into custody after a brief pursuit on foot.
Police say all three individuals involved in the incident are now in custody. A firearm was also recovered during the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
The names of the three men in custody were not immediately available.
