Greensburg woman dies in apartment fire – Latrobe Bulletin

A 71-year-old Greensburg woman died in a fatal fire early Friday morning, Oct. 27, at a Dornin Street apartment building in Greensburg.

According to a public information release report filed by Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson’s office, Westmoreland County 911 was notified of an automatic fire alarm at approximately 1:38 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at an apartment complex located at 828 Dornin St., Greensburg.

Firefighters extinguished the fire before finding the late Patricia M. Baylett inside her apartment.

Deputy Coroner Steven A. Whiteman pronounced Baylett dead at the scene at 3 a.m.

An autopsy was scheduled for later that day by Dr. Jennifer Hammers Pathology. Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, the coroner’s office said.

The Greensburg City Police Department is also investigating the incident.
