Police say an 8-year-old girl fell out of a vehicle during a police chase in Westmoreland County.
Officers say the driver, identified as Amanda Shaw, was trying to get someone else to use an anti-drunk-driving interlock system in her car, then drove away after seeing police.
According to the criminal complaint, when the vehicle made a sharp turn, the 8-year-old fell out the front passenger window. Police stopped to help the girl. The complaint doesn’t say if the child was injured.
Officers later found Shaw near her home on Woodmont Avenue. Police say she failed a field sobriety test and was driving on a suspended license.
