Driver of vehicle shot multiple times in Wilkinsburg

WILKINSBURG, Pa. —

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was shot several times on a main intersection in Wilkinsburg.

The shooting happened a little after 2 a.m. Thursday on the intersection of Ardmore Boulevard, right off of Brinton Road. The roadway was closed for nearly four hours while detectives investigated.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 saw more than 20 evidence markers spreading from the car to the on-ramp on the ground at the scene. Several bullet holes were scattered across the maroon charger.

Police said the victim was at a red light in the charger when another vehicle pulled alongside and shot at the car. The victim was shot in the shoulder and leg several times.

Police said she was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.

Detectives believe the incident was targeted.
