Allegheny County Police said they believe the 16-year-old’s wound was self-inflicted in the 400 block of Hamilton Street before 7 p.m. Saturday.
First responders found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Trib news partner WPXI-TV reported that the boy was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he later died.
