Police in Blairsville, Indiana County, said they want to talk to a person of interest after counterfeit $100 bills were passed at Tractor Supply and Dollar General.

Police released pictures of the person of interest on Monday.

Indiana County motorcycle crash: One person dead, one person taken to hospital

One person died and another person was taken to an area hospital after a motorcycle went off the road and crashed in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County on Monday evening.

The Conemaugh Township fire chief confirmed two people were on the motorcycle that went off the road. This happened in the 3100 block of Tunnelton Road.

The fire chief said one passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the second passenger was taken to Forbes Hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating. No other details have been released.

Man arrested, charged with arson after Indiana County house fire

ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP, Pa. —Pennsylvania State Police said a Shelocta man has been arrested on arson charges following a house fire in Armstrong Township, Indiana County, on Monday morning

Police said Kevin P. Olechovski, 37, was arrested without incident outside his 240 Vista Lane home after troopers learned that he had intentionally set fire to the home following a verbal argument with a family member.

Firefighters said one person had to be rescued from the home but no injuries were reported.

Police said the home is believed to be a total loss.

The Red Cross is assisting two adults following the fire.

“We were able to provide comfort kits, blankets and resources for immediate needs,” the Red Cross said in a tweet.

Police said Olechovski was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Susanne Steffee at 3:15 p.m. and was remanded to the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 24.

PSP: ‘Suspicious’ body found by PennDOT worker prompts investigation in Indiana County

State police say they’re investigating a suspicious death after a man’s body was found Thursday in Indiana County. Troopers say a PennDOT worker found the man’s body around 2 p. m. near the 2000 block of Mulligan Hill Road in W. Wheatfield Township.

The PennDOT employee reported finding the man’s body in a grassy area off of the roadway while inspecting a nearby drain.

Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

Troopers say the man’s identity is being withheld until his family is notified.

They say they found evidence at the scene that leads them to believe the death is suspicious but are not releasing any additional information at this time so as not to compromise the investigation.

An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death is being conducted at ForensicDX in Windber.

PSP: Johnstown woman found with 260 Ecstasy pills following traffic stop in Indiana Co. | WJAC

State police in Indiana County arrested a Johnstown woman for drug possession on Friday, following a traffic stop, according to a news release. Troopers say 25-year-old Kaitlyn Marie Krise was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and providing false identification to law enforcement following a traffic stop Friday evening in East Wheatfield Township. Authorities say on Friday, just before 7:30 p. m.

Police ask for help identifying woman who helped at the scene of fatal crash in Indiana County

State police in Indiana County are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who stopped to render aid at the scene of a fatal crash.

The crash happened April 19 on State Route 286 in Center Township.

State police are asking anyone with information to call 724-357-1960.
