‘Crazy and evil’: Bill Gates surprised by pandemic conspiracies | Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) – Microsoft co-founder turned philanthropist Bill Gates says he has been taken aback by the volume of “crazy” and “evil” conspiracy theories about him spreading on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic, but said on Wednesday he would like to explore what is behind them.

In an interview with Reuters, Gates said the millions of online posts and “crazy conspiracy theories” about him and about top U.S. infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci had likely taken hold in part because of the combination of a frightening viral pandemic and the rise of social media.

“Nobody would have predicted that I and Dr. Fauci would be so prominent in these really evil theories,” Gates said.“

I’m very surprised by that. I hope it goes away.”

Bill Gates becomes top US farmland owner

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is now the owner of the most farmland in the United States, according to Land Report.

The Land Report researchers concluded that Gates, now the fourth richest man in the world, and his wife, Melinda, own 242,000 acres of farmland.

They own roughly 52,000 more acreages than the Offutt family, who sit at No. 2 on Land Report’s list of families who own the most farmland in the U.S.

In total, Bill and Melinda Gates have acquired land in more than a dozen states. However, his largest land holdings are in Louisiana (69,071 acres), Arkansas (47,927 acres), Nebraska (20,588 acres), Arizona (25,750 acres) and Washington state (16,097).

Philanthropist Bill Gates is financially backing an effort to reverse global warming by dimming the sun before its rays hit the planet.

Have they really thought this one through?

The plan, spearheaded by Harvard University, is to spray millions of tons of tiny mirrored particles into the stratosphere to reflect solar radiation away from Earth.

The Swedish Space Corporation agreed earlier this month to give it its first trial run in June of next year, by launching a balloon near Kiruna, a town in the Arctic Circle, according to Reuters.

”There are very many real concerns” about the risks of climate change and solar geoengineering, said David Keith, who is involved in the project. He’s a professor of applied physics at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

”Understanding them requires a range of activities including experiments,” continued Keith, who is also a professor of public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

The unmanned test flight won’t actually release any particles into the stratosphere. It will instead check communications and other systems and work out maneuverability issues with the balloon.

However, Keith claimed it will be an important beginning leading up to the next step — releasing up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs.) of non-toxic calcium carbonate dust into the atmosphere.

In March 2015, Bill Gates showed an image of the coronavirus during a TED Talk and told the audience that it was what the greatest catastrophe of our time would look like. The real threat to life, he said, is ‘not missiles, but microbes.’ When the coronavirus pandemic swept over the earth like a tsunami five years later, he revived the war language, describing the pandemic as ‘a world war’.

‘The coronavirus pandemic pits all of humanity against the virus,’ he said.

In fact, the pandemic is not a war. The pandemic is a consequence of war. A war against life. The mechanical mind connected to the money machine of extraction has created the illusion of humans as separate from nature, and nature as dead, inert raw material to be exploited. But, in fact, we are part of the biome. And we are part of the virome. The biome and the virome are us. When we wage war on the biodiversity of our forests, our farms, and in our guts, we wage war on ourselves.

ROME (ChurchMilitant.com) – An Italian politician has recently demanded the arrest of billionaire Bill Gates, accusing him of “crimes against humanity” in a speech delivered to the Italian parliament.

In an impassioned seven-minute speech, Member of Parliament (MP) for Rome Sara Cunial attacked the Italian government’s heavy-handed and destructive response to the Wuhan crisis that was, she maintained, carried out under the influence of Gates, whom she denounced as a “vaccine criminal.”

“We have understood people, for sure, don’t die for the virus alone. So people will be allowed to die and suffer, thanks to you and your laws, for misery and poverty,” Cunial said.

The MP pointed particularly to the suffering of the children “who will lose more” as a result of oppressive lockdown measures and forced vaccinations. She called them “raped souls” for whom “the right to school will be granted only with a bracelet … to get them used to slavery.” She said they exchange their freedom “for a push-scooter and a tablet.”

F.D.A. Halts Coronavirus Testing Program Backed by Bill Gates – The New York Times

The program allows people in the Seattle area to easily take a coronavirus test at home. Researchers say such testing is essential for future monitoring of the virus.

SEATTLE — An innovative coronavirus testing program in the Seattle area — promoted by the billionaire Bill Gates and local public health officials as a way of conducting wider surveillance on the invisible spread of the virus — has been ordered by the federal government to stop its work pending additional reviews.

The program involved sending home test kits to both healthy and sick people in the hope of conducting the kind of widespread monitoring that could help communities safely reopen from lockdowns. Researchers and public health authorities already had tested thousands of samples, finding dozens of previously undetected cases.

But the program, a partnership between research groups and the Seattle and King County public health department that had been operating under authorization from the state, was notified this week that it now needs approval directly from the federal government. Officials with the Food and Drug Administration told the partnership to cease its testing and reporting until the agency grants further approval.

“Please discontinue patient testing and return of diagnostic results to patients until proper authorization is obtained,” the F.D.A. wrote in a memo.

More South African animal feed and pet food now contain insect larvae – thanks in part to Bill Gates

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has invested in South Africa’s biggest producer of insect protein.

  • A number of South African pet food and animal feed products now contain insect larvae – a protein source produced by a Cape Town-based company.
  • AgriProtein processes up to 40 tonnes of food waste per day, and then gets black soldier flies to feed on the waste.
  • AgriProtein is building an additional five factories in 2019 – the aim is to have 100 by 2024.
