Human remains found over a hillside near Worthington

 

WORTHINGTON — Human remains were found Monday morning in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, according to a press release issued by the office of Armstrong County Coroner Brian K. Myers.

Hunters found a motorcycle over a hillside along Nichola Road in the township. The license was registered to a missing person out of Allegheny County, according the release.

Allegheny County Police posted late Monday afternoon that the license plate was registered to 59-year-old Darlene Harbison, who has been missing from Frazier Township, Allegheny County, since September.

Pennsylvania State Police were called and, on arrival, human remains were found, the release states.

Woman charged after newborn baby girl is dropped on her head in Armstrong County

Sarah Lugo, 41, is facing several charges

Kittanning Police said charges have been filed against a woman after a newborn baby girl was dropped on her head.

The incident happened around 12:00 p.m. Tuesday on Oak Avenue.

Police said they arrested her about 11 hours later after she barricaded herself inside a home on North Jefferson Street.

Lugo is charged with endangering the welfare of children and other offenses.

The baby girl was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for treatment.

Kittanning police arrest man accused of firing gun at bystanders – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Kittanning police were dispatched to the area of 1200 North Grant Avenue late Friday night for reports of a man actively firing a handgun at bystanders.

Officers arrived on the scene and confirmed that no one had been hurt, per a statement posted to the department’s Facebook page. Bystanders at the scene said that the suspect had fled back into his home following the incident.

Officers entered the residence where they were able to apprehend Joseph Mohnack. Officers also located a 9mm semi-automatic handgun used in the act, the statement added.

Officers learned that Mohnack is a person not to possess firearms.

Mohnack has been charged with several offenses and was transported to the Armstrong County Jail.
