Officials: Man shot dead by police serving warrant in Whitehall

Allegheny County police say agents with a Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office task force were serving a warrant for illegal firearms.

Authorities say as officers attempted to enter the apartment, 54-year-old Selwyn Brown began firing multiple shots at officers.

After gunshots rang out, authorities say both Brown and officers retreated from the situation. Officials then say Brown came back out with two firearms and once again began shooting.

Agents returned fire, hitting Brown who was later pronounced dead.
