PITTSBURGH — Three people, including a police officer, were taken to a hospital after a fire broke out early Friday morning at a home in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood.
The fire, which sparked about 2 a.m., burned at a home on Sebring Avenue.
A 70-year-old woman suffered burns, officials said. Firefighters found her and paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
A 50-year-old man was also being treated for multiple burns at a hospital, where officials said he was listed in critical condition.
The police officer who was taken to a hospital suffered smoke inhalation, officials said.
Homes on either side of the one that caught fire were evacuated as a precaution.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
