An uptick in scam calls in the area, has prompted Latrobe police to issue a warning to residents to never provide their personal information over the phone under any circumstances.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police are warning area residents of an ongoing scam that is taking place.
They say some residents have been getting calls from people claiming to be with the Bureau of Police.
The caller then asks residents for personal information like social security numbers.
Police say this is a scam and that they will never call to ask for information like that over the phone.
