Shooting happened Monday afternoon
NEW CASTLE, Pa. —
Police were investigating after a person was shot in the stomach in New Castle, Lawrence County.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon on Beech Street in the Westview Terrace Housing Project.

New Castle City Police are investigating a homicide Saturday evening.
It occurred in an alley off of Marshall Avenue.
According to the New Castle News, the victim has been identified as 39-year-old Jason Miles of New Castle.Additional information will be released as police continue to investigate.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (KDKA) — Crews battled a house fire in New Castle early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 4:30 a.m. with heavy fire coming out of a 2-story home on Ray Street.
Before the fire was under control, there were concerns that it would spread to neighboring houses, but crews were able to contain the fire.
Police were able to help an elderly woman get out of the house.
No one was injured, but the house may be a total loss.
