From @gmfb Weekend: The are now activately shopping RB Le’Veon Bell, sources say, making calls and doing due diligence. A trade would be difficult, but not impossible.

Rapoport noted that Pittsburgh’s high asking price of at least a second-round pick and a “good player” has prevented anything from getting done thus far.

Le’Veon Bell does not report to Pittsburgh Steelers, surrenders Game 1 check

Le’Veon Bell did not report to the Pittsburgh Steelers before Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, meaning the star running back officially will surrender his Week 1 game check worth $853,000.

The Steelers were on their way to Cleveland on Saturday for their regular-season opener Sunday against the Browns, and Bell was not with the team, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Bell touched the ball a league-high 406 times while playing on a $12.12 million franchise tag last season, and he told ESPN in January that he wouldn’t touch the ball another 400 times without a contract that matches his worth as a player.
