Crews Respond To House Fire In Sarver – ButlerRadio.com – Butler, PA

 

A home in the Sarver area was significantly damaged in a fire this morning.

The initial call came in around 8:15 a.m. for a wood burner that had caught on fire inside a home in the 500 block of Fleming Road in Buffalo Township.

When crews arrived on scene, they said the two-story structure had turned into a fully involved fire.

In addition to fire crews from Butler County, other firefighters were called in to assist from Allegheny and Armstrong Counties.

At least one person was taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Butler police fatally shoot man who stabbed officer

A man was shot and killed by police in Butler after stabbing an officer Tuesday morning, state police said.

The incident happened in the area of the 300 block of West Jefferson Street, as the officer responded to a 911 call about a man acting erratically and jumping in and out of traffic, state police said.

No information on the officer’s condition was immediately available.

Police have not identified the man who was killed.

The investigation is ongoing. State police said they would discuss the incident at the Butler station at 10:30 a.m.

22-year-old man killed in Butler County crash

VENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. —A 22-year-old man was killed in a crash in Venango Township, Butler County, on Friday evening.The crash happened just after 7:45 p.m. on Eau Claire Road.

State police said Shane Fitzpatrick, of Butler, was driving eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and went off the road before crossing back over and striking two trees with his vehicle.

Fitzpatrick was pronounced dead at the scene.

9-year-old girl killed in Butler County crash

A 9-year-old girl from Baltimore, Maryland, was killed in a crash in Butler County.

The crash happened Sunday evening on Route 422 in Clearfield Township.

When the vehicle towing a trailer stopped to make a left into a driveway it was struck from behind by the vehicle the girl was in.

The 9-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle the girl was in was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The two people in the vehicle that were towing a trailer were not injured.

State police are investigating.

BUTLER COUPLE INDICTED: Former hospital CEO and ex-county detective charged in $1.3 million fraud

The U.S. attorney in Pittsburgh says the indictment includes charges of mail fraud, conspiracy, embezzlement from a healthcare benefit program and money laundering.

A former CEO of Butler Memorial Hospital and her husband, a former longtime Butler County detective whose duties involved fraud investigations, are named in a federal indictment that alleges a $1.3 million fraud, authorities said Friday.

The 37-count indictment against Stephanie Roskovski, 48, and Scott Roskovski, 50, includes charges of mail fraud, conspiracy, embezzlement from a health care benefit program, money laundering and false statement in a loan application, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady’s office said.
