D.C. police Chief Robert Contee said during a news briefing Monday night that there is not a lookout at this time, and police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 202-727-9099.
The circumstances of the shooting, including whether the victims even knew each other, are being investigated, Contee said.
D.C. police described what happened on the Azeeze Bates property on the 1500 block of F Street as a “critical incident alert.”

(CNN) — A passenger traveling from Bali, Indonesia to Australia has found themselves paying a hefty price for a McDonald’s breakfast.
The unnamed traveler was handed a fine of 2,664 Australian dollars ($1,874) after two undeclared egg and beef sausage McMuffins and a ham croissant were found in their luggage on arriving at Darwin Airport in the country’s Northern Territory last week.

PITTSBURGH — A rollover accident happened near UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood Monday afternoon.
According to Allegheny County 911, police, fire and EMS units were called to the intersection of Penn Avenue and 44th Street at 3:20 p.m.
Pittsburgh police originally said two people were injured in the crash but later said only one person was hurt. The single occupant was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
ARNOLD, Pa. — Police are investigating after a body was found in the Allegheny River in the city of Arnold in Westmoreland County over the weekend.
According the Westmoreland County Office of the Coroner, Addam Roe, 28, from East Deer Township in Allegheny County, was found floating in the river by a fisherman near the 1500 block of Riverside Drive at 4:04 p.m. Sunday.
The New Kensington Fire Department retrieved Roe’s body from the river. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pat Carroll, a comedic television mainstay for decades, Emmy-winner for “Caesar’s Hour” and the voice of Ursula in “The Little Mermaid,” has died. She was 95.
Her daughter Kerry Karsian, a casting agent, said Carroll died at her home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on Saturday. Her other daughter Tara Karsian wrote on Instagram that they want everyone to “honor her by having a raucous laugh at absolutely anything today (and everyday forward) because besides her brilliant talent and love, she leaves my sister Kerry and I with the greatest gift of all, imbuing us with humor and the ability to laugh…even in the saddest of times.”
Carroll was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1927. Her family relocated to Los Angeles when she was 5 years old. Her first film role came in 1948 in “Hometown Girl” but she found her stride in television. She won an Emmy for her work on the sketch comedy series “Caesar’s Hour” in 1956, was a regular on “Make Room for Daddy” with Danny Thomas, a guest star on “The DuPont Show with June Allyson” and a variety show regular stopping by “The Danny Kaye Show,” “The Red Skelton Show” and “The Carol Burnett Show.”
Nichelle Nichols, who broke barriers for Black women in Hollywood when she played communications officer Lt. Uhura on the original “Star Trek” television series, has died at the age of 89.
Her son Kyle Johnson said Nichols died Saturday in Silver City, New Mexico.
“Last night, my mother, Nichelle Nichols, succumbed to natural causes and passed away. Her light however, like the ancient galaxies now being seen for the first time, will remain for us and future generations to enjoy, learn from, and draw inspiration,” Johnson wrote on her official Facebook page Sunday. “Hers was a life well lived and as such a model for us all.”
Her role in the 1966-69 series as Lt. Uhura earned Nichols a lifelong position of honor with the series’ rabid fans, known as Trekkers and Trekkies. It also earned her accolades for breaking stereotypes that had limited Black women to acting roles as servants and included an interracial onscreen kiss with co-star William Shatner that was unheard of at the time.
“I shall have more to say about the trailblazing, incomparable Nichelle Nichols, who shared the bridge with us as Lt. Uhura of the USS Enterprise, and who passed today at age 89,” George Takei wrote on Twitter. “For today, my heart is heavy, my eyes shining like the stars you now rest among, my dearest friend.”
Takei played Sulu in the original “Star Trek” series alongside Nichols. But her impact was felt beyond her immediate co-stars, and many others in the “Star Trek” world also tweeted their condolences.
Parts of three neighborhoods on Pittsburgh’s North Side were under a boil water advisory Sunday after a water main break Saturday evening.
The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, which issued the advisory Saturday night, said portions of the Central Northside, Fineview and Perry South neighborhoods were covered by the warning. About 460 households are within the advisory area, the PWSA said.
An interactive map is available if residents are unsure if they’re affected.
Anyone in those households is advised to boil any tap water that’s being used for consumption, including for cooking, drinking by humans or pets, brushing teeth, washing dishes and making ice cubes. The PWSA recommends boiling any water “vigorously” for at least a minute, then allowing it to cool.
The advisory was made “in an abundance of caution” after part of an 8-inch water main broke along Perrysville Avenue around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, the PWSA said. The break was isolated and pressure was restored about an hour later, the authority added.
Two water buffaloes are available for those affected by the advisory. They are located on Perrysville Avenue (near its intersections with Eshelman Street and Federal Street Extension) and at Pittsburgh EMS Medic 4 (213 Lafayette Ave.).
The PWSA says the boil advisory will continue until it can confirm the water is safe by testing it.

Spokesman Rory Sheehan said the decision was part of a reimagination of the bank’s branch strategy across its network. Citizens has nearly 100 branches in this region.
“The site transitions are part of our ongoing effort to review customer patterns and optimize branch locations,” he said in an email Friday.
He said the kiosks will include an ATM for routine transactions and video technology that will allow customers to connect live with a banker for more complex services. The virtual assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m.. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Citizens will convert 15 Giant Eagle branches to the new format in the fourth quarter and the remaining 13 in the first quarter of 2023.
The move will affect about 100 employees, who will be able to apply for open positions elsewhere in the company, Mr. Sheehan said.
A man was killed in a crash in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County.
The crash happened a little after 9 p.m. Saturday on Maple Lane.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s office identified the man as 29-year-old Tyler J. Cubakovic, of North Huntingdon Township.
The coroner’s office said Cubakovic did not turn on the left curve in the roadway and instead struck a large rock/tree. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The cause of death was blunt force injuries due to the crash and the manner of death an accident, according to the coroner’s office.
Pittsburgh police are investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s North Shore.
Officers responded to the area near Anderson Street and E. General Robinson Street for reports of a shooting around 1:30 a.m. Monday. There, they found a man who had been shot twice.
He was taken to the hospital where he died. The man’s name has not been released.

The second annual Pittsburgh Cannabis Festival is making its comeback to the city, with Mayor Ed Gainey reportedly set to make an appearance discussing cannabis reform.
The free festival, scheduled for Aug. 14 at Allegheny Commons Park, is being hosted by Terrapin Care Stations, a cultivator, processor, and provider of medical cannabis in Pennsylvania, according to a press release.

“A collaborative group started out in Milwaukee, and it’s spreading across the country where they’re able to take these vehicles simply by using a cellphone charging cable and using that to start the vehicle,” said Pittsburgh Police Sgt. Tom Huerbin.
