Police investigate overnight shooting

Just before 2:40 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 were informed that an adult male with gunshot wounds to his leg had been dropped off at the hospital.

He arrived in stable condition. The victim spoke with police but was not forthcoming about how he received his injuries.

Officers from Zone 6 later located a scene inside a residence in the 2900 block of Sacramento Avenue and spoke with the occupants. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.

Car Crashes Into Armstrong County Beer Distributor – ButlerRadio.com – Butler, PA

No serious injuries were reported after a car crashed into a business in neighboring Armstrong County last week.

According to State Police, 20-year-old Carley Rosenberger of Ford City was traveling on River Road in Parks Township just before 4am on Thursday (November 24th) when she allegedly crashed into River Road Six Pack.

Authorities say that Rosenberger suffered minor injuries in the crash, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

During their investigation, police determined that Rosenberger was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

Officials plan to charge Rosenberger with DUI.

Police Locate Two Teen Gunshot Victims After Shots Fired in Sheraden Neighborhood

At 8:40 p.m.,Thursday, Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 responded to a 25 round ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of Sherwood Avenue.

Responding officers first located one juvenile male victim with gunshot wounds to the chest, arm, and leg. Medics transported him in critical condition.

A second victim, also a juvenile, was struck in the ribs and arm. EMS transported him to the hospital in critical condition.

Police applied tourniquets to both victims before medics arrived. The Sheraden Library was hit by bullets, damaging the gas meter. The gas was shut off.

The Crime Scene Unit processed evidence at the scene.

Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are investigating. There are no arrests at this time.

Allegheny Valley Regional Police charged a man with intimidating a witness after an East Deer woman reported he threatened to beat her and her husband because they alerted police that he tried to steal items from their rental property. 5 dead, 18 injured in shooting at Colorado Springs gay nightclub Saturday night

CSPD responding to shooting on North Academy

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – 5 people are dead and 18 people are injured after a shooting at a Colorado Springs gay nightclub Saturday night.

Just before midnight, the Colorado Springs Police Department said that they received a call for an active shooter at Club Q, a known LGBTQ+ nightclub, on 3430 North Academy Boulevard. CSFD also responded with at least 11 ambulances were on scene.

Police say the suspect is in custody at the hospital, but has not yet been identified publicly Sunday morning. The FBI is also assisting in the investigation.

North Academy Boulevard between North Carefree Circle and Village Seven Road will remain closed. Police are asking people to avoid the area. Anyone who is looking for their loved one can reach out to CSPD.

Police and federal agents said they observed Brian Schlagel of Murrysville buy and sell pills out of his business and home over the course of several months, according to Tribune-Review

Clarion Man Accused of Burning Ex-Girlfriend With Butane Lighter, Threatening to Kill Her Children Faces Hearing on Tuesday

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Clarion man is facing a hearing on Tuesday morning stemming from a gruesome incident in which he allegedly used a butane torch lighter to burn his ex-girlfriend while she was sleeping.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing for 27-year-old Branden Michael Doty is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, at 9:15 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn.

Doty faces the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault – Attempts to cause SBI or causes injury with extreme indifference, Felony 1

– Terroristic Threats with Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2

He is currently lodged in the Clarion County Jail on $75,000.00 monetary bail.

One person dead after apparent home invasion in Pittsburgh

UPDATE: We now have an ID on the man who died in this encounter.

A man was pronounced dead inside the home, according to a tweet from Pittsburgh Public Safety. A woman had been taken to the hospital in stable condition after suffering significant facial injuries.

On Friday, Allegheny County released the identity of the male victim as 52-year-old Victor Sawyer of Pittsburgh.

Women arrested for allegedly stealing perfume worth over $22,900 from Pittsburgh-area mall

The women, who allegedly had a toddler with them, were taken into custody after police said they took 73 bottles of perfume from Nordstrom at Ross Park Mall.

Stephanie Hopkins, of Pittsburgh, and De Siree Riley, of McKees Rocks, were taken into custody after allegedly taking 76 bottles of perfume from Nordstrom at Ross Park Mall.

Ross Township police were called around 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a retail theft. An officer was given a description of the women, who reportedly had a toddler with them, and of the car Hopkins was allegedly driving.

According to the complaint, the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but Hopkins fled.

Hopkins is charged with two counts of retail theft, endangering the welfare of children, possessing an instrument of crime, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at a red light and reckless driving.

Riley is charged with two counts of retail theft and possessing an instrument of crime.

They are awaiting arraignment.

Charges dismissed against 15-year-old arrested in Kennywood shooting

A judge has dismissed all charges against a 15-year-old arrested in connection with the shooting at Kennywood Park back in September.

At a hearing Wednesday, the judge said there’s not enough evidence to support the charges against the teen.

The handgun investigators believe was used by the teen was found at the scene on the night of the shooting, but investigators said there was no DNA or fingerprint evidence on the gun or magazine linking the weapon to the teen.

Man pleads guilty to possessing fentanyl in Duquesne

A Butler man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Pittsburgh to possessing drugs, including fentanyl, last year in Duquesne.

Gerry Lee Kendall, 41, pleaded guilty before Senior District Court Judge Arthur J. Schwab on a charge of possessing 10 grams or more of a drug mixture containing fluorofentanyl and fentanyl.

Man shot to death inside Scott Township business – WTAE

A deadly shooting in the 1900 block of Cochran Road in Scott Township on Wednesday came after a Taco Bell employee was disciplined by his manager.

Multiple emergency vehicles could be seen in the parking lot of Northwestern Mutual near the intersection with Greentree Road. This area was shut down for hours but has since reopened.

Two sources with knowledge of the situation tell Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that a man ran into the building, and another man, chasing after him, followed him inside and shot and killed him. The shooting happened around 12:07 p.m.

Police confirm officers found a man shot in the foyer.

19-year-old shot and killed in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood identified

PITTSBURGH — The person shot and killed Tuesday in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood has been identified.

Brandon Robinson Jr., 19, of Pittsburgh, was shot in the area of Roll and Reifert streets around 6:35 p.m, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.

Pittsburgh police said there were two ShotSpotter alerts registered to the area, one on the 200 block of Wilbur Street and the other in the 1000 block of Brownsville Road.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mobile Crime Unit arrived and processed the scene.

Violent Crime Unit is handling the investigation, which is ongoing.

1 person injured in shooting outside of Beaver County Walmart

At least 1 person was flown to a hospital and a man is in custody after a shooting at a Beaver County shopping plaza, investigators say.

 A suspect was taken into custody on Wagner Road near the Lowe’s at around 7:36 p.m. on Sunday night.

Police said both men were in their 20s and believe they knew each other.

“The individual who we believe was involved in the shooting and who committed the offense ran in a direction through our officers, Beaver County Sheriff’s Department, Monaca officers, as well as a slew of other additional responding officers. we were able to set up a perimeter. The officers were able to chase the individual and apprehend him in custody in an adjacent neighborhood,” said Center Township Police Capt. John Hall.

The Walmart was put on lockdown when the shooting happened, and students at the nearby Penn State Beaver campus were asked to remain indoors at the time. Students who were off campus were asked to avoid it.

Penn State Beaver lifted its advisory at around 7:52 p.m.

Just before 7:50 p.m, Zone 2 officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Elmore Street for a six-round ShotSpotter notification.
Responding units located two male victims nearby in the 2000 block of Reed Street. The first victim, a juvenile, suffered a graze wound to head. Officers applied pressure until medics arrived and transported him in stable condition to an area hospital.
The second victim, also a juvenile, was shot in the hand and leg and officers applied tourniquets until medics could take him to another area hospital in stable condition.
The Mobile Crime Unit arrived to process evidence at the scene.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

Shooting happened late Sunday night

Pittsburgh Police were called to the the 900 block of Millerdale Street following reports of multiple shots fired just before 11:45 p.m.

Officers located a male with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. He was pronounced deceased by medics on scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

No arrests so far as of Monday morning.

Male dead after crashing car, fleeing from police in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood Sunday morning

BREAKING NEWS: A male is dead after police said he crashed his car and then fled from police before crashing three more times in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

Police said the driver came to and spoke with the officers through the window.

During this exchange, the responding officers saw a large quantity of narcotics on the driver’s lap and asked him to step out of the vehicle.

According to police, the driver rolled his window up and fled, hitting an unoccupied patrol car head-on and traveling southbound on Beaver Avenue at a high rate of speed.

Police said the car then hit a light standard on Island Avenue before crashing into a wall and catching fire.

The fire was put out and the driver was extricated from the car. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

The Collision Investigation Unit is investigating.

Good Samaritan helps teenager shot in Sheraden

A juvenile was shot multiple times in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Good Samaritan helped a teenager who was shot twice in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood on Thursday.

Officers found the teen on Glen Mawr Street after they got a ShotSpotter alert for three rounds fired on Narcissus Avenue.

Police said officers applied two tourniquets before medics arrived. The teen was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Dontrell Summers said he heard screams and ran outside and started helping.

Police officer struck as driver flees traffic stop in Pittsburgh

At 3 a.m. Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of McKinley Street and Grogan Avenue for a possible DUI.

An officer exited his vehicle and spoke with the driver who provided his name and date of birth, but could not provide a driver’s license. The suspect then fled from the stop, striking the officer in the leg.

Police followed the vehicle, which ultimately turned down a dead end in the 700 block of Margaret Street in Mount Oliver, hitting a tree.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by EMS to be medically cleared before being transported to the ACJ.The officer was not seriously injured and was evaluated by medics on scene.

The driver had an outstanding warrant and a large amount of narcotics were recovered from inside the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Construction flagger struck by vehicle in hit-and-run in Overbrook

A construction flagger was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Overbrook.

Pittsburgh police said Zone 3 officers and EMS units were dispatched to Saw Mill Run Boulevard at Library Road for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle before 9:30 p.m.

Once on scene, officers located a female road construction flagger who was conscious and alert. The victim had pain in her knee and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle did not stay on scene.

The shooting occurred at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport hotel on Campbells Run Road in Robinson Township Wednesday.

Police: Man charged with killing North Side bystanders in shooting sparked by ‘gang activity’

A Pittsburgh man faces double homicide charges in connection with the deaths of two bystanders during an Oct. 15 shooting police said was “a concerted assault stemming from gang activity.”

Jaylone Hines, 21, is charged with two counts of homicide in connection with the fatal shooting of Betty Jean Averytt, 59, and Jacquelyn C. Mehalic, 33. Police have said both were bystanders waiting at a nearby bus stop and were not part of the dispute.

Pittsburgh police investigating after report of teens being robbed of Halloween candy at gunpoint

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police said they responded to a 911 call on Halloween night for two kids who say they were robbed at gunpoint of their candy. This happened around 6:45 p.m. on Halloween night near Carrick Plaza along Brownsville Road. Police say they’re investigating whether the weapons were real or not.

When Zone 5 officers arrived in the area, they located an unconscious male with a gunshot wound in a vehicle.

Officer shoots driver after car plows through barricade at Omaha Halloween celebration

Omaha, Nebraska — A Halloween celebration turned frantic after a man drove through a barricaded area and was shot by an Omaha police officer Monday night, police said.

CBS Omaha affiliate KMTV reports that the man was critically wounded. His name hasn’t been released.

Police said no one else was seriously hurt.

Some 3,000 children were expected. The motorist was critically wounded but was the only person seriously hurt, though the crowd got frantic.
