South Side crash involves 2 cars and Port Authority bus

A car overturned in a crash involving another car and a Port Authority bus on South 18th Street in Pittsburgh’s South Side Friday morning.

The crash happened on South 18th Street near Edwards Way just after 10 a.m, according to a statement from the Port Authority.

There is a blind spot coming downhill on South 18th street where the collision took place.

The Port Authority says two cars were coming down South 18th toward Carson Street at a high speed, crossed the center line and made contact.

Just then, the Port Authority 54 D Oakland/South Side bus that was heading in the opposite direction was approaching the bend.

One of the two cars slid into the side of the bus.

Then, a Nissan Maxima went on top of and over a Ford Bronco, before the Maxima rolled over on its roof.

No one was seriously hurt. The man and woman who were inside the flipped car were injured but authorities say their injuries were minor and not life-threatening.

Pittsburgh EMS took them to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment.
