A 60-year-old man is in surgery after being shot in the eye by a passing vehicle on the Parkway West.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said the shooting happened near exit 69A on the westbound Interstate 376. Rifle rounds were fired from a white Mazda SUV into another vehicle.
The man who was shot was taken to the hospital in critical condition.Police are searching for the Mazda that fled the scene. Public Safety spokesperson Cara Cruz said the vehicle headed westbound toward either Banksville Road or onto the Parkway West.
Police did not indicate what might have prompted this shooting.
Pittsburgh police are investigating.
