Four homes left damaged by fire in Pittsburgh’s Bluff neighborhood

A fire that initially broke out Monday evening in Pittsburgh’s Bluff neighborhood rekindled early Tuesday morning.

The fire was initially reported at a home along Van Braam Street around 10 p.m. A little after 2 a.m. Tuesday, the fire rekindled and firefighters returned to the scene. Crews were able to put out that rekindled fire just after 3 a.m.

In all, four homes were damaged. No injuries were reported.

Robert Eckenrode, who owns one of the buildings, spoke with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 Monday night. He said his tenants, who are college students, called him after they got out of the house. He said the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
