1 dead, 2 injured in overnight shootings in Pittsburgh | TribLIVE.com

One person was killed and two others were injured in separate shootings overnight in Pittsburgh, authorities said.

The first happened about 10 p.m. on Kedron Street in the city’s Homewood section. Police responded to a ShotSpotter notification and found a man in his late 50s who had been shot in the head.

Authorities performed CPR until paramedics arrived, said Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office had not released the man’s identity as of early Monday.

About an hour later, Cruz said, authorities received word that a man had walked into a hospital on the city’s North Side with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Shortly after that, someone called 911 to report a man calling for help near Island Avenue and Preble Avenue.

Officers found a man who Cruz said had been shot multiple times and come out of the river. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
