PITTSBURGH, PA — A man facing homicide charges in the drug-related death of his 1-year-old son last year has been sentenced by a federal judge to 10 years in prison for dealing drugs.

Thomas Snelsire, 47, of Baldwin, was part of a drug ring and sold controlled substances out of his Oakleaf Road residence, U.S. Attorney Cindy Chung’s office said. He also was heard on FBI wiretaps complaining to another member of the ring about the quality of cocaine he had received.

In 2020, authorities in an unrelated matter executed a search warrant at Snelsire’s home and found suspected cocaine on a plate under a lamp in his living room. Snelsire subsequently admitted distributing at least 500 grams of cocaine and at least 100 grams of heroin during the conspiracy.
