‘People’s Convoy’ makes its way through western Pennsylvania

The People’s Convoy started in southern California last Wednesday and is heading to Washington.

Organizers said they are protesting COVID-19 restrictions and want the national COVID-19 emergency declaration to end and restrictions to be lifted now that vaccines and other treatments are available.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 spoke with multiple people who were on overpasses to say hello and show their support for the People’s Convoy.

“About the most important thing we have as Americans is freedom,” one supporter said.

“I’m proud to be an American. It feels good to see all of these people supporting what’s going on,” another supporter said.

Organizers said that from the Turnpike they will get off at Breezewood and make their way to Hagerstown, Maryland. They plan to reach the Washington area on Saturday.
