Police: Three overnight armed robberies in Pittsburgh are likely connected

Pittsburgh Public Safety said three overnight armed robberies in the city of Pittsburgh are likely connected.

The first robbery happened a little before 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Family Dollar on the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue in the city’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said two men held cashiers at the store at gunpoint and demanded money

.No one was hurt.

The second robbery happened shortly before 11 p.m. on the 4900 block of Penn Avenue.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said two men went into a business there, showed a weapon, demanded cash and fired a shot into the floor.

The men got away.
