Perry South: Multiple Pittsburgh homes damaged in fire

At least one home was destroyed by fire and at least two others were damaged in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood.

The fire broke out a little before 4:30 a.m. Thursday at a house on the 300 block of Kennedy Avenue.

“We were sleeping and next thing you know we heard a big explosion,” said homeowner Jasmine Archibald.

Archibald said the fire was downstairs and she, her son and her boyfriend had to jump off the roof from the home down to the yard to get out.

“Everything was burning. There was no going back,” said Archibald.

There were no initial reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
