Man attempts to impersonate police officer while being pulled over in Westmoreland County

A Mt. Pleasant man is facing charges after police said he claimed to be a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop with a state trooper.

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — A Mt. Pleasant man is facing charges after police said he claimed to be a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop with a state trooper.

Jonathan Matthew Kauric II, 38, was charged with impersonating a public servant, disorderly conduct, false identification to police and several summary traffic violations after the incident on Route 30 near the intersection of Portal Lane in North Huntingdon.

Police said Kauric’s Honda Accord was pulled over just before 11 a.m. for an inoperable tail light and expired inspection.
