12-year-old boy flown to Pittsburgh hospital following Mercer County crash

 

A 12-year-old boy was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for treatment following a crash in Mercer County last week.

The crash on July 22 happened on Pulaski Mercer Road in Wilmington Township.

State police said the boy was passenger in a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis that failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 1979 Ford.

The two drivers were treated by paramedics and did not have to go to the hospital.

The 12-year-old boy suffered a serious injury that required treatment at the hospital.

State police said the 35-year-old driver of the Mercury Grand Marquis is being cited for a stop sign violation.
