Teachers union surprised by Pittsburgh schools reopening plans | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The announcement Monday night from the Pittsburgh Public Schools about its phased plans for reopening in April came as a surprise to the teachers union.

Nina Esposito-Visgitis, president of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, said the union knew nothing about the district’s plan and first learned about it through the media Tuesday morning.
