Girl, 16, fatally shot by 14-year-old in Pennsylvania

A 16-year-old Pennsylvania girl was fatally shot by a 14-year-old boy during an argument Friday night, authorities said.

READING, Pa. — A 16-year-old Pennsylvania girl was fatally shot by a 14-year-old boy during an argument Friday night, authorities said.

A 17-year-old girl, the sister of the victim, suffered a nonfatal gunshot to her leg during the argument in Reading, the Reading Eagle reported.

The shooter, who was under supervision of juvenile probation for previous violent crimes, was arrested and is being charged as an adult with homicide and related offenses, Police Chief Richard Tornielli said.

His name wasn’t released since he had not yet been formally arraigned as of Saturday.

Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams said the alleged shooter will turn 15 next week.
