Pittsburgh radio pioneer KDKA takes major step as it celebrates centennial – Pittsburgh Business Times

After 100 years as an AM station, News Radio 1020 KDKA will simulcast on FM, effective Nov. 2, parent company, Philadelphia-based Entercom Communications Corp., confirmed on Monday.

KDKA will be heard on 100.1 FM while WAMO 100.1 will be heard on 107.3 FM.

“It works out great for us to be able to put a station that has meant so much to so many people in Pittsburgh on FM and increase the reach and introduce it to a new audience who may not be as familiar with KDKA,” said Michael Spacciapolli, senior vice president and market manager, Entercom Pittsburgh.
