Pittsburgh Public Schools discusses return to class, those without laptops will get PDFs

The first day of virtual learning is set for Sept. 8.

On Saturday, the district decided to delay the start of classes for an additional week, due to a laptop shortage. Officials told board members on Wednesday that students who do not yet have laptops with district programming will be given PDF versions to follow along with what students who are logged on are seeing.

“Where do the teaching and the learning take place,” said board member Sala Udin.

Board member Terry Kennedy asked administrators how students will be able to submit the hardcopy assignments without access to a device.
