Westmoreland County sees increase in COVID-19 cases

 

After weeks of single-digit case counts, Westmoreland County is seeing an increase in coronavirus cases.

With 20 new cases confirmed by the state Department of Health on Monday, Westmoreland County has now seen 640 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. In the last three days, 53 cases have been reported.

Allegheny County officials announced to suspension of all in-person alcohol sales on Sunday after a large surge in cases. Westmoreland County officials said Monday that any decision on potential closures must come from the state level.
