Strong odor leads neighbors to find woman’s body in refrigerator

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — A woman’s body was found in a refrigerator in a hallway at an apartment building in McKees Rocks, according to police.

Homicide detectives said at about 9:46 a.m., County 911 was notified that the body was found in a hallway in the building in the 90 block of Helen Street. Detectives said they are initiating an investigation into what happened.

Channel 11′s crew at the scene could see officers, detectives and crime scene technicians at the home. Neighbors said they smelled an odor and when they went to check on the source, they discovered the woman’s body had been put into a refrigerator sitting in a second floor hallway.

Anyone with information about the woman’s death is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
