HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Two men were injured Thursday afternoon when the cellphone tower they were erecting collapsed in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.
Firefighters and paramedics used all-terrain vehicles to rescue the pair from a hilltop wooded area above Route 130 near Jeannette.Jamie Shaw, Hempfield’s director of code and safety, said the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the incident.
Shaw said the unidentified men were putting together a new section of the tower when it shifted just after 12:30 p.m. and they fell about 30 feet.
