Fire destroys home in Unity Township; crews battle flames for 4 hours

After battling a fire at the Greensburg public works building early Friday morning, firefighters from the Lloydsville Fire Department battled a house fire in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, for nearly four hours.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. and extended through an entire house in the East High Acres II neighborhood.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters thanked fast-acting neighbors who alerted the person who was home of the fire.
