5 people taken to hospitals after head-on crash | WJAC

Somerset County dispatchers said five people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision happened in Jefferson Township on Saturday.

Officials said the crash happened around 10 a.m. in the area of Glades Pike and Fire Tower Road.

According to dispatchers, those involved in the crash were taken by helicopter and ambulance to multiple hospitals.

Route 31 at the Somerset-Westmoreland county line was closed for about 2 1/2 hours, officials said.

State police are investigating the cause of the crash.
