Power restored in Ellwood City – News – Ellwood City Ledger – Ellwood City, PA

ELLWOOD CITY — Power has been restored to a large section of the borough that lost electricity early Friday.

Mark Linville, supervisor of the Ellwood City Electric Department, said a circuit tripped, knocking out power to customers in the Ewing Park area and south side of the community. Power to most was returned within 45 to 90 minutes, he said Friday.

“Everyone is back now,” Linville said.

He said they are not entirely certain what caused the circuit trip, but believe it could be connected to a problem reported at Lincoln High School on Crescent Avenue, which still was without power at 11 a.m. as crews worked on its situation. Inmetco, which is not served by the municipal power company but shares a Penn Power line, also reported an outage. The Ellwood City Medical Center did not lose power because it is on a separate grid, Linville said.
